List of events happening at the Library.
The book club meets at 2pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A member selects a book each month to be read and discussed. The library orders in the books to be read a month ahead. If you'd like to participate, stop by the library to pick up next month's book.
The library will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in honor of the July 4th holiday.
Meet at the Freeport Community Center, then we will go on an adventure. Make sure to dress for digging because you will get to pretend to be an archaeologist! Tools will be provided to explore what is beneath the surface, hopefully you will find some treasures!
This is your chance to learn to juggle. Mr. Jim will teach you the basics, so you can become a juggler. Join us for a crazy, fun time!
Thursday, July 23rd at 1pm, the names will be drawn for the summer reading prize drawings. Get your reading logs into the library before the 23rd, kids and teens receive 2 tickets to put into the prize drawing of their choice, adults receive 1 ticket to try for a $50 Walmart or Amazon gift card.
The library 10 year millage is on the August 4th ballot. Voters in Carlton & Irving Townships, including the Village of Freeport will have the opportunity to vote on a renewal of .4604 mill and an additional .0396 mill to restore the original .5 mill approved in 2016. The millage has reduced over the last 10 years due to the Headlee Amendment millage reduction.
The library will be closed Friday September 4th and Monday the 7th for the Labor Day holiday
Most board meetings are the 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm at the library. The only exception is the November/December meetings are combined.
The library will be closed for the Thanksgiving holidays, Thursday-Saturday, November 26-28, 2026.
